"Sielerus" Quiet Waters

(Water Color)

Psalm 23

A Psalm of David

The LORD is my Shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his names sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil
for You are with me
Your rod and Your staff
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil:
my cup overflows.
Surely Your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

When I were 10 years old my father passed away. A lady who's son was at school with me gave me a little bookmark. There was a picture of a child holding a teddy bear standing in front of a half opened door. The words "Do not fear" Ps23 was also on there. I kept the bookmark and Ps 23 has been part of my life ever since. That small token to give reassurance gave more reassurance than you can ever imagine.

Die geldwolwe

Hulle noem hulself die elite
Dink hul kom van hulle eie breed.
Weg met wat goed is opreg en eer
Hulle skryf hulle eie wetboek maak hul eie leer

Net soos hainas in die nag
Hoor jy hulle skrille nikseggende gelag
Meer moet ek he, meer moet ek kry
Maak nie saak of die duiwel homself by my kom bly

So verkoop hul, hul siel

Translation:

They call themselves the elite,
thinking that they come from their own breed,
throwing away righteousness and trustworthiness
Writing their own law books own laws.

Just like hainas at night
All you hear is their empty laughter
More must I have, More must I get
does not matter if the devil himself comes to stay.

Selling their soul
Refusing to kneel before God
To important to listen, to hear
lost within the own I, me, myself

Bigger houses, bigger cars, just more and more
to your conceit and enviousness there is no stopping point
life has already lost its sense

Whilst you milk and drill your friend for their last cents.
